Our Mission

KNY Dog Rescue was founded in August 2021 while working in partnership with Keep Me Warm Dog Houses, a non-profit that builds dog houses for dogs that are tethered or kept outside 24/7.

Our goal is to be a unique rescue that offers help to all NYC residents that can no longer care for their dogs. Instead of surrendering their pets to local police or high kill shelters, we encourage owners to allow us to find them their perfect new homes. We have taken in hundreds of dogs directly to our foster network in the New York area. We make sure all our animals are fully vetted—meaning they have been examined and treated by a veterinarian including vaccinations and spayed/neutered—before going into foster care.

We also work with independent Korean rescuers that save dogs from high kill shelters in South Korea and help find them forever homes in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut areas.

As a volunteer-based rescue, we pride ourselves in being completely present and focused for the benefit of every dog and adoptee to make sure they are a perfect match. For this reason, we rescue no more than 12 dogs monthly.
